MLK Day of Service
MLK Day of Service 2026
MLK Day of Service is a national holiday focused on celebrating and honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We are given this day off so that we may focus on positively engaging with our local community. UCR will celebrate MLK Day of Service on Friday, January 16th, 2026. More information to come on how to sign up for a service project happening at UCR and in the surrounding community!
**You may be asking yourself why this service day is not on the actual MLK Day (Monday, January 19, 2026). On January 19, we will be encouraging UCR students, staff, and faculty to take part in the annual MLK Day Walk-a-Thon hosted by the Riverside African American Historical Society. If you want to learn more about that, please email us at volunteer@ucr.edu.
