Commuter Resources

A student rides his bike through traffic to campus.

More than 14,000 students commute to and from UC Riverside everyday, so if you’re commuting, you’re not alone. Student Life offers ways to help make commuting manageable, including social events, workshops on alternative transportation at Highlander Orientation, and a ton of online resources.

Get Involved!

One of the best ways to get connected on campus is to get involved! Find information on student organizations on highlanderlink.ucr.edu or stop by an involvement fair in the fall or spring quarters. If you are new student, get connected with a student mentor through the First-Year Mentor program. Contact Kerri Soscia at kerri.soscia@ucr.edu to sign up for the mentor program.

Transfer & Commuter Student Lounge

Meet other commuter students and take a break in between classes in the Transfer & Commuter Student Lounge. The lounge, located on the first floor of the HUB across from HUB dining, features microwaves, comfy chairs, and charging stations.

New Student Commuter Welcome

One of our largest programs of the year is a welcome session for new commuter students. Held prior to Freshman Convocation, the Commuter Student Welcome is a great time to meet fellow commuter students, learn more about campus resources and programs, and get connected with UCR Student Life staff!

Commuting Alternatives

Transportation Services offers carpools, van pools, campus shuttles, and bike racks.

Free Bus Rides

Off-Campus Housing
