Leadership Programs is an area focused on providing students with opportunities to strengthen and develop leadership skills. This area offers a number of different programs including the Inspiring R’ Leaders Conference and the Cultural Awareness Project.
Inspiring R’ Leaders is a 1-day conference that challenges students to realize their full leadership potential. The conference offers a wide variety of engaging presentations and workshops pertaining to developing and enhancing leadership skills. The theme for our conference is Leading with Excellence. We will provide 20 workshops having to do with Communication/Leadership 101, Self-Awareness and Identity Development, and Diversity and Social Justice. The conference is open to all students, but the target audience is undergraduates.
The Cultural Awareness Project is a 4-week workshop series that leads students through conversations about identity and intersectionality, peer-to-peer marginalization and systemic oppression, and challenges students to think of themselves as leaders in the Social Justice Arena.
In Fall 2018, we will be launching a Leadership Certificate Program that uses the Social Change Model of Leadership as a framework. All leadership programs including the Inspiring R’ Leaders Conference and the Cultural Awareness Project count toward the completion of the certificate.
