Looking for a job? Become a SOAP Volunteer!

SOAP stands for Student Organization Advising Peers. It’s a team of volunteers involved on campus who advise student organizations. Volunteers are trained by Student Life about the online SOLAR system and other information crucial to the success of a student organization. SOAP volunteers have an exclusive desk inside the office of Student Life where they meet with students and offer friendly assistance.

How do I become a SOAP volunteer?

Fill out a SOAP Application! Please submit applications to Student Life (229 Commons). Interested students are also required to go through an interview process.

Why would I want to become a SOAP?

Being a SOAP volunteer is a great chance to make new friends and interact with students while building valuable leadership and communication skills. A SOAP volunteer is the first to meet and greet those who walk into the Student Life office.

How much time do I have to commit to SOAP?

SOAP has a minimum commitment of 2 hours per week.

Who will I interact with as a SOAP?

Individuals have a chance to interact with a diverse array of student organizations.
