Student Life: Our Mission is You

Student Life is dedicated to the education and development of UCR’s diverse student body and to creating a meaningful, learning-centered campus life for students at the University. Student Life works in active partnership with

student, faculty, and staff colleagues to foster and support student opportunities for learning, involvement, leadership, community building, and creative expression that complement classroom experiences. Student Life further supports student organizations and their leaders, and they in turn provide programs and resources to the student body and the wider University community.

The Student Life Web site is divided into four sections -- Prepare, Enjoy, Involve and Inform -- all of which support our dedication to the education and development of UCR’s diverse student body.

Prepare Yourself - Lead and Succeed

Bear Facts Orientation for new students is a great way to learn about the exciting things that UC Riverside has to offer. The First Year Success Series is a sequence of workshops and seminars designed to guide you through all of the first year chaos. We’ve also got all the info about living off-campus and commuting to school.

Enjoy Yourself - Catch Highlander Spirit

Embrace your inner Highlander while having fun and making friends at one of our on-campus events, such as Homecoming, Welcome Week or Block Party. Learn more about UCR’s storied history, our school colors symbols, Scotty the Bear, and even download our alma mater.

Involve Yourself - Explore Your Interest

With several Honor/Honorary Societies and forty Fraternities and Sororities, UCR has a vibrant community of student organizations. Student Life also has several leadership opportunities, whether it’s as a Student Organization Advising Peer (SOAP) or at one of our many Student Organization leadership retreats.
