Student Organization Registration Process

Student Organizations that wish to re-register (previous been a registered student organization at UCR), please notify Student Life that the organization would like to re-register. The organization's profile in the SOLAR system online is inactive (not viewable) and Student Life will need to activate the profile.

Dates and Times of future Registration Workshops

Sign-ups for all workshops are available up to three weeks prior to the workhsop. Signing up in Student Life is required.


 

In order to attend a Registration session,

all new & re-registering student organizations

MUST do the following:

  • The representative must schedule a Pre-Flight meeting (see below for details) and sign-up to attend a Registration session. It is recommended that the Pre-flight meeting take place at least one week prior to the Registration session, in order to complete all requirements of registration. Please come into Student Life (229 Commons) to sign-up.
  • If the organization is new, please refer to the webpage Starting a New Student Organization and visit the Student Organization Consultation Desk in the Student Organization Workroom (228 Commons) if you have questions.
  • The representative attending the Pre-Flight and Registration session must have “owner/primary officer” status in the SOLAR system for the 2008-2009 academic year. The representative must also remain at UCR for the entire 2008-09 academic year. Therefore, the representative cannot graduate in 2008, study abroad, or take a leave of absence during 2008-09.
  • Roster verification requirements – each member must be listed on your roster in the SOLAR system to verify membership of the student organization.
  • Update roster/all profile information and upload constitution in SOLAR.
  • Update banking information in SOLAR (ASUCR/GSA/Off-Campus Bank info). If your organization needs an off-campus bank account obtain a Tax ID number from the IRS (Form SS-4) www.irs.org or call 1-800-829-4933 Organizations can only have one bank account either with ASUCR, GSA, or off-campus.
  • This representative will be responsible for relaying ALL information to ALL members of the organization.

Pre-Flight Appointment Information

The 30 minute Pre-Flight meeting BEFORE your scheduled Registration date will ensure that your organization gets registered or re-registered quickly and efficiently; representative(s) will receive a one-on-one consultation. Representative(s) must sign up for a Pre-Flight session in the office of Student Life. If the representative(s) is more than 5 minutes late, the pre-flight meeting must be rescheduled. The representative must have “owner/primary office” status in SOLAR.


Walk-ins for a registration session will not be permitted!

 

A single representative can register a maximum of 2 student organizations
