Honor Societies at UCR

UCR has a wide variety of Honorary / Honor Societies. Each is recognized nationally and every organization has a different focus, purpose, and eligibility requirements.                                                        Gamma Beta Phi members at LA AIDS walk

Gamma Beta Phi -
Gamma Beta Phi is a non-secret, non- profit, scholastic, educational-service organization, for certain students. This Society recognizes and encourages excellence in education and promotes the development of leadership ability.

Golden Key International Honour Society -
The mission of Golden Key International Honour Society, a nonprofit academic honors organization, is to recognize and encourage scholastic achievement and excellence in all undergraduate fields of study, to unite with faculty and administrators in developing and maintaining high standards of education, to provide economic assistance to outstanding members by means of both undergraduate and graduate scholarships, and to promote altruistic conduct through voluntary service.

National Residence Hall Honorary -
The purpose is to aid the development and maintenance of a strong, diverse and academically successful residential community within the UCR Residence Halls.

National Society of Collegiate Scholars -
The purpose is to recognize and celebrate high achievement among first and second year students in all academic disciplines.

Omicron Delta Kappa –
The purpose is to recognize those who have attained a high standard of efficiency in collegiate activities and to inspire others to strive for similar attainments.

Order of Omega –
The purpose is to recognize Greeks that have attained a high standard of leadership in inter-Greek activities to encourage them to continue along this line, and to inspire others to strive for similar conspicuous attainment.

Sigma Alpha Lambda -
Sigma Alpha Lambda’s purpose is to promote, recognize, and reward academic achievement and provide members with opportunities for community service, personal development, and lifelong professional fulfillment.

Tau Beta Pi (National Engineering Honor Society) –
The purpose of the society is to mark in a fitting manner these who have conferred honor upon their alma mater by distinguished scholarship and exemplary character as students, or by their attainments as alumni.

Tau Sigma -
The purpose of this organization shall be to recognize the academic achievement of students transferring to an institution of higher learning from another academic institution and to encourage and promote the students’ involvement in the institution to which they have transferred.
